Balancing a thriving career with personal milestones can be challenging, but for Kendall Revilla, it has been a testament to her discipline, resilience, and faith.
Revilla, a five-year MDRT member from Cebu City, Philippines, honed her discipline, attention to detail, and financial expertise early in her career as a certified public accountant (CPA) at a global accounting firm and later as a project finance manager in the real estate sector. As a financial advisor, she applies these skills to serve around 700 clients, including young parents, new employees, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) owners, and business professionals.
Married for three years, Revilla embraces a new chapter with her pregnancy. Through her 3S approach — Speed, Service, and Selflessness — she continues to provide exceptional financial guidance without compromising her health.
Speed, Service, and Selflessness
“In financial advising, speed is not just about quick responses. It’s about proactive engagement.” Revilla ensures clients receive timely, well-informed advice on financial matters. She understands that economic concerns, whether a sudden policy question, an investment opportunity, or an urgent claim, sometimes arise. Even during pregnancy, she remains highly responsive, addressing every query urgently and accurately. “Clients appreciate not having to chase me for information. I make sure to reply promptly with well-thought-out answers.”
As mindful as she is of her pregnancy, Revilla brings the same meticulous care to her work, ensuring every financial plan is tailored to her clients’ needs. Her disciplined approach, whether analyzing investment options or guiding clients through claims, leaves no detail overlooked. One of her clients, a 32-year-old mother of four, was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and needed to undergo an operation. Under her guidance, the client’s policy provided much-needed financial support through a medical needs claim.
Revilla’s selflessness is at the heart of her practice. As an expectant mother, she understands her role extends beyond financial advice to offering personal and emotional support. She empathizes with every client, making them feel heard and cared for. One couple she assisted secured a policy together, with only the wife undergoing medical screening due to the husband’s family history. Just four months later, the husband was diagnosed with colon cancer. She made sure the couple was financially prepared and emotionally reassured, guiding them through the claims process with compassion and professionalism.
Beyond financial advising, Revilla’s generosity reaches even further. She co-sponsors 40 college scholars and participates in an outreach program that supports 50 to 100 families annually, reinforcing her belief that financial well-being must uplift entire communities.
Balancing career and pregnancy through faith and self-care
Revilla addresses career demands despite being seven months pregnant. “A recent health scare forced me to take bed rest, and it was a wake-up call. It made me realize balance is essential.”
Her daily routine, rooted in faith, provides stability and strength and offers clarity amid work and pregnancy pressures. She engages with her church community by being a speaker and mentor in advocacy initiatives.
Journaling helps her process her thoughts, worries, and challenges daily. “It serves as a way to track my emotional well-being, recognize thought patterns, and release any anxiety.”
Revilla credits her strong support system for helping her maintain balance. From her husband to colleagues, she values having reliable people during this transition period. To lighten her workload, she delegates administrative tasks to her staff. “Surrounding yourself with the right people who encourage and support you makes everything easier.”
Time management and technology
Revilla upholds service excellence during her transition to motherhood by effectively managing her time and leveraging technology. "While I ensure my clients receive timely support, I make sure to eat my meals on time, maintain a proper sleep schedule, and dedicate time to devotion and meditation.”
She utilizes digital tools to automate and streamline processes, reducing manual work and ensuring client services remain uninterrupted. “I use tools like Notion and Airtable to seamlessly manage data and serve clients efficiently while allowing time for rest.” This approach has improved her efficiency without losing the personal touch that makes her clients feel valued. Whether through automated email updates or simple chat and call check-ins, clients receive the same level of care, even when she needs to step back momentarily for her health.
As she prepares for motherhood, Revilla continues to deliver excellent client service, proving that life’s transitions do not have to be roadblocks but opportunities for growth. With unwavering faith, discipline, and a deep commitment to service, she upholds excellence and inspires a more compassionate approach to client service.
