The MDRT Foundation Names Birmingham Advisor Gary Metcalf to its Board of Trustees
PARK RIDGE, Ill. (Sept. 1, 2024) — Gary Metcalf, DipPFS, of Birmingham, United Kingdom, has been named a Trustee to the MDRT Foundation Board, with his three-year term beginning September 1, 2024. The MDRT Foundation is the charitable arm of MDRT, the leading international association for financial services professionals. Gary is an 11-year member of MDRT with 11 Court of the Table qualifications and 10 Top of the Table qualifications.
“Gary’s commitment is recognized and appreciated,” said MDRT Foundation President Alessandro Forte, FCII, CFP. “Progressing within the Major Donor Committee from a volunteer to the Committee Chair, it is exciting seeing an established volunteer advance into a leadership role. He is a great addition to an already impressive team.”
As a Trustee of the MDRT Foundation Board, Gary is responsible for supporting organizational growth of the Foundation while providing oversight for the programs supporting people in need. The Foundation’s global grant programs provide an opportunity for MDRT members to obtain funding for charitable organizations in their communities. Grants fund a variety of programs, including those that serve at-risk youth, homeless individuals, people with disabilities, and the elderly. In 2023, the Foundation awarded more than USD 1.8 million in grants to charities throughout the world.
“I look forward to working with a highly experienced board and helping members understand how they can benefit from the Foundation and its programs,” said Gary. “I hope to increase member engagement by highlighting opportunities such as the Inner Circle Society and Global Grants Program to further the Foundation’s success.”
Gary is a strong proponent for the Global Grants Program, an exclusive member benefit for MDRT members to apply for grants on behalf of charities they support. He has secured two grants and commends the positive impact they have made.
Gary is a Platinum Knight of the Foundation – Knights are the Foundation’s most loyal supporters, as their donations support a variety of charitable causes worldwide. Platinum Knight donors have given a minimum of USD 25,000 in cumulative contributions. Additionally, he is a Patron of the Inner Circle Society, a recognition awarded to donors that have supported the MDRT Foundation with annual gifts.
