PARK RIDGE, IL. (Sept. 1, 2024) — Delia Wong of Singapore, has been named a Trustee to the MDRT Foundation Board, with her three-year term beginning September 1, 2024. The MDRT Foundation is the charitable arm of MDRT, the leading international association for financial services professionals. Wong is a 13-year member of MDRT with one Court of the Table qualification.
“Although Delia is one of our more recent volunteers, she has shown her talents and incredible commitment to our activities,” said MDRT Foundation President Alessandro Forte, FCII, CFP. “In the last three years, she has served as Co-Chair to the MDRT Foundation Network and as a member fundraiser for two Gives Day campaigns.”
As a Trustee of the MDRT Foundation Board, Wong is responsible for supporting organizational growth of the Foundation while providing oversight for the programs supporting people in need. The Foundation’s global grant programs provide an opportunity for MDRT members to obtain funding for charitable organizations in their communities. Grants fund a variety of programs, including those that serve at-risk youth, homeless individuals, people with disabilities, and the elderly. In 2023, the Foundation awarded more than USD 1.8 million in grants to charities throughout the world.
“Community service has been a lifelong passion of mine. I began volunteering when I was a student and have personally taken on different volunteer projects over the years,” said Wong. “The opportunity to work with likeminded colleagues that share similar values is a deeply humbling opportunity.”
As new members join from around the world each year, Wong looks forward to promoting the Foundation within the MDRT community. She advocates for members to maximize their membership benefit by participating in the Foundation and leveraging the opportunity to contribute to local and global charities alike.
Wong is also a Silver Knight of the Foundation – Knights are the Foundation’s most loyal supporters, as their donations support a variety of charitable causes worldwide. Silver Knight donors have given a minimum of USD 3,000 in cumulative contributions.
